About
John. Jay. Caleb.
Three generations of Hoffs. One family business. Seventy-three years in the River Valley.
1952 — The origin
It started with a WWII vet and a truck.
John B. Hoff came home from the Army in 1946. By 1952 he'd hung out a shingle in Delaware Township and started taking plumbing calls from neighbors. He worked with his hands, knew everyone by name, and built a reputation that outlasted him.
He passed in 1994 — but the phone he answered for forty years still rings at the same family business.
The handoff
Jay took the truck.
Jay A. Hoff grew up watching his father work. He took over the business, kept the name, and ran it through decades of changing technology — from copper repipes to modern boilers — without changing the core of how the family did business.
Show up on time. Give people a straight answer. Do the work right.
Third generation
And now Caleb is on the truck too.
Caleb Hoff — Jay's son — is the third generation actively working the family business. Customers already know him by name.
It's not a marketing line. It's just what happens when the family name is on the side of the truck.
Caleb Hoff is fast, efficient, and reliable.
Our work
What we believe about doing this work.
Show up when we said we would.
Your time is worth the same as ours. If we're running late, you'll hear from us before you'd have to ask.
Diagnose before quoting.
We look at the actual problem before pricing it. A real number, not a range made up over the phone.
Don't sell what you don't need.
If your equipment has years left, we'll tell you. If a repair is cheaper than a replacement, we'll say so.
Stand behind the work.
Because you'll see us at the hardware store on Saturday — and we'd like that to be a pleasant conversation.
